Bit Problems - Icelandic Horse

Are we using the wrong bits on Icelandic Horses?

Or is it a matter of too much contact, not enough training, not enough education on the rider's part?

i ride my icelandic in an eggbutt roller bit (either a roller or a broken 3-piece i think) it's one of the gentlest bits out there and she responds well to it. i think it's all a matter of training and softening to the bit

I only ride in snaffles and D rings, and a Myler bit for my more sensitive horse. I don't think it's a matter of too much contact, because if the horse accepts the contact, has been worked up to that level, and isn't in any pain, it will be fine. It's a matter of ignorance and doing everything it takes to get that horse's head into that ideal frame.
